I have been in love with the Albion Doge for some time. I recently discovered that DSA makes a Doge now as well. The blade types seem different but the specs seem close..
Has anyone owned or held the DSA Doge? Anyone directly compare the DSA to the Albion?

Why support the knock off made in India?
The Albion doge handles amazingly.

Why support the knock off made in India? The Albion doge handles amazingly. To my knowledge, only the DSA Herald Series is made in India, the others are made in Canada. The Doge sword is not in the Herald Series.

Why support the knock off made in India? The Albion doge handles amazingly. I would love to own an Albion Doge. To be fair, at about $700 less, the DSA is less than half the price of the Albion, and comes with a scabbard. To me, DSA and Albion are just not comparable. I’m personally not a DSA fan, but I can see the attraction.

The Doge sword is not in the Herald Series. The math doesn't support DSA swords being made in Quebec. I'll accept that they assemble them in St. Laurent, but they are importing the blades and hilt parts from somewhere with a much lower labor cost.

THREAD about DSA has to devolve into this nonsense. With the exception of the Herald Series, DSA has maintained that the swords are made entirely in Canada. If you dispute that, then so be it, but where is your evidence? I'm not a shill for DSA and have never owned one of their products, but this seems really unfair to me to go on and on like this without the burden of proof. It also has NOTHING to do with what the original poster requested.

It also has NOTHING to do with what the original poster requested. A couple years ago a shipping ledger was found which supported the idea that DSA imports from India. N. American labor is not cheap. Running a business in N. America is even less cheap. 595 bucks for a replica of a very complex arming sword? I could see that for Indian and Chinese forges or assembled in Canada pieces, but as someone who has expended genuine effort trying to make blades and dealed with blade makers in both American and India/Pakistan - that's not western labor. Material alone is going to stress that price and add in wages etc? Not saying this to change this topic to a DSA bashing post but Albion et al deserve proper credit and buying a knockoff is not proper credit.
