Nice find! That got me excited... I have a thing for cutlasses. Doesn't quite cut it for me though. That round pommel just doesn't seem right to my eyes, on a cutlass. It looks like exactly what it is... two different things put together and called something else. (Not that that never happened to the 'real things', but still.) Not that I would refuse a free one of course

Yup, it's not a classic 18th/19th c naval cutlass, rather a dussack or a complex hilt falchion. Nevertheless interesting. I have two KA swords now and both handle very well. I hope this will too (perhaps after next Black Friday). If Windlass would made such a thing it would weight 3 1/2 lb I assume.

I like the sword but 350 and that scabbard... huh. It's like what you would on a rural machete made for tourists.

About my thoughts especially with the sheath. Beautiful tooling but the sheath’s design? It could also be dangerous because as age and usage sets in I wouldn’t trust the threads against a sharp edge. Possibly there is a spacer between the two leather surfaces and the sword’s edge will make contact there. But still the overall design appearance wise is not fitting for that sword.

A ball pommel would have fit really well. pgandy my thoughts precisely

The sheath is iffy for sure. But I love the look of the sword. Very tempting, but that price makes it hard with the sheath.

I like it. There are a couple of items ahead of it in line, but it has definitely made my list. Awesome.

Specs are all good. Don't like the look of the scabbard but it SAYS on the SBG listing it's wood core. But I'm not shooting for one like this because of the scabbard anyway. (Worse comes to worst, I've had plenty of stitched ones from the far past with the leather spacer--"sandwich" method--that never came close to cutting through anyway.)
A good possibility. For whatever reason (completely unlike "Tinker designed" stuff) I've always found "Angus Trim designed" production swords to be a disappointment, something almost always seems "lost in translation." But I'd love one that wasn't, and I have a good feeling about both this and the A.P.O.C. gladius. I'll very probably shoot for one of them soon.

Howdy! Mine just arrived yesterday -- I saw it on TherionArms, and figured I had to have it. The sheath is...yeah. It's a leather knife-sheath. The stitching feels solid and the tooling is pretty, but it's pretty basic. Honestly though, I like it a lot better than the cheesy fiberglass jobs you get with Hanwei/Tinker swords. It's got more character.
But enough about that. The cutlass/dussack/falchion itself is totally sweet. The lines are crisp, it came finger-slicing sharp, and it feels great in the hand. It's lively as hell too, with a clear distal taper you can see just by eyeballing it. Easily a keeper. And to answer LeMal's question, you can definitely tell it was designed by Angus Trim. I've got two ATrims in my armoury, and this boy has the same attitude as they do. It's absolutely worth the $360 I paid at TherionArms.

Good to hear, that's what I hoped or expected from an Atrim designed KA.

Sneakypete - thank you for taking the risk as an early adopter and for sharing your impressions. I was really hoping it would live up to the expectations that come with the ATrim name. This sword has now been moved way up my want list.
I’m glad you like your new acquisition.

Sneakypete... What's your impression of the grip size, and the hand guard? And I'd LOVE a pic or three with it in hand to see if it would actually protect, or if it's more decorative. And thanks for posting your impressions! Heck go nuts and do a review

After reading what Sneakypete had to say, I went ahead and ordered one from Therion Arms.
