My introduction to this hobby came from my uncle and BIL when I was a kid. Back then, they both collected Gil Hibben knives. He designed knives for the Rambo movies I believe. Of course I thought they were bad-ass--especially the silver shadow dagger! Nowadays I prefer large knives designed more for bushcraft, but Gil's knives sure are pretty. Of his designs, I only own a set of throwers which are fun to mess around with. I saw these in a Bud K catalog the other day: www.budk.com/Gil-Hibben-Knives-3052Maybe I'll get the silver shadow dagger someday for nostalgia's sake, but I like the look of that karambit too.

I bought the ‘double shadow‘ knife 30+ years ago. Cool looking knife but not what I would call practical. But whenever I show someone my knives, that’s the One everyone likes. Had a friend I showed that knife to when I bought it ask me, a year or so ago, if I still had that Mel Gibson knife.Lol Of course I knew which one he was talking about. And I do still have it.

The wire grips are one of the things about it that does impress people. I think because everyone is use to leather or wood grips. It was the first wire grip I ever held and I also like it a lot.
