Today, I did some cutting with this Duncan Macleod Highlander sword from Point Gallery (Texas Steel Props). The sword was made using the blade from a Hanwei Bamboo Mat Katana. Point Gallery then created the super tough, carbon fiber composite hilt. After performing a few cuts on Mugen Dachi tatami, I tried those cuts again on tougher used Japanese tatami mats that I ordered from Nihonzashi. The sword handles very nicely and has no problem cutting the tougher used Japanese tatami. Enjoy the video

Nice stuff. I think it's the first time I've seen a Point Gallery sword in action.

Other than not bowing to the target before /after cutting.. very nice form. Noticeable difference between the new Mugan Dachi mats and the used mats huh? The good thing about the used mats is that they challenge your technique. The bad thing is all the gross stuff on/in them that make the water nasty and the dirt/tiny pebbles embedded that will scratch your blade...

Cool!
Could use a little Connery attitude/snark though. A good one liner for each felled mat.
