I want to get an Albion sword and I'd like to get a scabbard made for it at some point after. I know Christian Fletcher exists, but quite frankly his prices are just too exuberant for my tastes. Not doubting in his work, just don't want to pay 600 bucks for a scabbard. Does anyone know a decent budget scabbard maker? I looked at Triton works and they seem pretty OK tbh, but I haven't heard back from them and it makes me wonder if they're still active. I basically am just looking for a simple scabbard with a chape. The blade I'd be wanting it for is the Albion Gaddhjalt. Thanks!

Even the most entry lvl scabbards start at like 3 to 4 hundred nowadays

Yep, 600 is middle of the road so far as prices go. Best bet is probably Steve Huerta. For what you mentioned it's around $370. shcustomleather.weebly.com/

You can make one yourself. I love the high end scabbards, but cost and wait makes it hard to have one for every sword.
It’s not that hard to make something basic.
But if you want a scabbard that matches the quality of the Albion, it will not be cheap. The low end will start around $500 and go up from there.

Sadly, the makers of swords have decided that the making of scabbards is not something that makes economic sense.. I suspect in part because its a totally separate art/craft, in part because the market has been wiling to buy swords without scabbards and in part that many sword buyers can barely afford the cost of the sword and the scabbard market is therefor limited. I am slowly selling all my swords that I do not have scabbards for and will not by any new swords without a quality scabbard. I know Albion experimented with its own in house scabbard making but it was proven to not make economic sense and was discontinued. I owned a Knight, Vigil with Albion scabbards. does anyone know of a maker of period scabbards? I have a 1720 Shamshir Anyone who is a skilled, reliable and established scabbard maker, one who will going to disappear with your money, has a 1 yr or longer backlog...
