SBG forge direct Chinese swords had a model forged from a single billet of steel. I am looking for the name so that I can possible locate one in the future. Couldn’t find it on the archived swords page. Can someone point me in the right direction? Hoping to find it on the secondary market. Might be a shot in the dark but things come up. Thank you in advance for any and all information.

I'm pretty sure the hanwei has been discontinued for a few years at this point. I really dont know of anyone making one now. Sinosword/jkoo does one in the same style but I'm pretty sure it's made like a normal Jian from them. I'd email and ask if I were you. |

Thank you for your help. There is one on eBay. Looks the same as the one offered by sbg years ago. Prince of Qi. It’s far more expensive than I remember.

It's just a Chinese retail site like amazon or ebay. The sword is probably 1045 with cheap fittings and possibly untrustworthy in the tang. No way to know.

Pay less now and regret it later. If anyone has the Hanwei or SBG version for sale on the secondary market, I’m interested. Thanks again for all the input.

Might not be a bad idea putting it in a "wanting to buy" thread under classifieds. Dunno how many are still out there but it never hurts to look. I agree with above post, no way to really know for sure what you're going to get on those sites.
