I am by no means condemning smart phones, they have their place. And said that first sentence in jest. But for me they don't fit my life style.

And edelweiss, 1954, I thought you were WAY older than that! Haha just kidding. I had you figured for about 4-6 years older than me. But only two. I knew we were of the same generation from some of your other posts. And yes I need to get serious about getting a refurbed computer.

@edelweiss You posted while I was writing the above. Iphones don’t fit my life style. My lap top is more secure in my house with its sensitive information than up for grabs in our high crime streets. I prefer the security of a land line to wireless. Other than that this old fashion keyboard fits my hands better, in fact I don’t look where the fingers go. I can’t say that about my cel phone with keys smaller than my finger tips. The 19½” monitor that I connected to my lap top makes it easy on these old eyes. I find nothing wrong with iphones as such, they just don’t fit into my lifestyle. I’m retired and there is nothing so pressing for me that it can’t wait until I’m home. Years ago I thought a pager would be helpful. It took less than two months, I think, to pitch that fool thing. Silence is golden.

Thanks Glen. That started pretty reasonably priced. You know, I had zero interest in Sabres, now everyone I see I wonder how it would look cut down. Oh yeah the CSA thing doesn’t bother me at all.

That one looks more “business like” than my Windlass D-Guard Bowie except it has absolutely no cutting edge and is falsely advertised as being Confederate. Beautiful newly made sheath.

Not sure what you mean by no cutting edge. Looks like it got a secondary bevel edge along one side. As far as not being confederate, I wouldn’t know an American Sabre from a British, Polish or any Sabre. The only one I can recognize is a shashka (think I spelled that right).

When I said “no cutting edge” I was basing this on the bottom photo which to me appears not to have a cutting edge. But looking at it just now very possibly the actual cutting edge didn't show up in the photo when comparing it to the photo above. When I used the word “confederate” I was referring to the Confederate States of America aka CSA. They existed from 1861-1865, roughly a century and half ago. That knife appears newer than 150 years and the sheath most definitely newer.

And I’m not surprised something on eBay is misrepresented or the seller just doesn’t know.

The bottom photo is looking down at the spine. I stand corrected. I misstook the top strap for the knuckle bow.

Thanks again Glen. Was actually following the first and third of those. Added the second, the japanese one. The bayonets look good but I’m into the cut down Sabres. Like I said above, now I can’t look at a Sabre without wondering if I could cut it down.
