So---what if---in a galaxy far, far away, and a loooong time ago---a certain influence caused a certain Galactic race to develop a specific style of armor...colored specifically...and brandishing a red beast skull on one shoulder pauldron?- Also wearing barbuta-style helmets. What if one were to actually make such a suit of armor? The helmet would HAVE TO BE a T-face barbuta, with see-through black cloth covering the 'T'. The color-scheme would be olive-drab, red, yellow, brown, and grey underclothes. Does this remind you of anyone? Anyone like the most bad-ass bounty hunter in the galaxy? Yep....I'm thinkin' of a new set of armor. Thoughts, anyone?

I've had this exact same thought tbh lol. I will chime in once I'm out of class. The helmet is one thing I don't know enough about to find a medieval equivilant

You'll need a big can of beans. The can as a helmet and the beans as a "jetpack"! ... and intrepid dignity!

This is the way I see it--- It seems like there were several different variations of the Mandalorian helmet, but they almost always had the T-shaped visor, and a few with Y-shapes. Almost any reproduction Barbuta helm would do. I'm kinda looking at the Epic Armoury Barbuta helm with the Y-shape. The suggestion of blackened chain mail over the visor slit sounds SUPER COOL! Andi---Just add hot sauce to the beans and you have Hyperspace capability...but you'll need spare undies. LOTS of spare undies. ....

MOK---THOSE ARE EPIC!
Exactly the look I was thinking of! I never actually did a web search, but I was sure someone else had the idea before me.
I may give this a shot one day. Or, I may just paint some of my existing armor.

Well---as luck would have it---I just opened my mailbox to find a capital credits check for $118 from my phone company! There will be a visit to Medieval Collectibles in order, along with a 20% discount with code: SANTA. Merry Christmas to ME!

Yep---Just ordered a 'Markward' gorget, cuirass, and tassets, made by 'Mytholon'. With the check from the phone company, plus the 20% discount code, I got the complete body armor for around +/- $80. HELL YEAH! The entire line of Mytholon armor is really great for the price. This stuff is built super-tough. I wouldn't wear it to a SCA/BOTN fight, but for heavy reenactment or sparring with blunts.....Pfffttt. No-brainer. Pics to come, of course, after I get it. I figured I needed an update, since there is a sneaky Roman Centurion prowling the forums.

Looking forward to seeing it. I hope to one day built my own steel armour set. Closest thing I got is my stab vest, plate carrier and home made riot armour 😂 won't do much against a sword that can easily get at the cloth bits of my armour

I assume it's the three-piece one?

Who am I kidding? I could never bring myself to paint that shiny steel. Now, a Mandalor beast skull painted on a shoulder pauldron and a bad-ass custom helmet COULD be done. The rest would be easy. I'll just play it by ear until the new armor arrives. After all, Captain Phasma's stormtrooper armor was all polished. I think I can pull this off. Next step after the armor....the HELMET. I've got some bad-ass ideas floating around in my noodle. Stay tuned, same time, same channel.

Yea he couldn't bring himself to paint it either. I think it looks a lot cooler this way. I would paint it if I could tho, just to prevent rust and lower maintenance lol. I'm lazy... But perhaps too lazy to paint it too

I assume it's the three-piece one? Yes, the gorget is three pieces of steel. The back is hinged with riveted leather, and the front is just held on by the straps. It's a cool design. If you want the Markward cuirass...GET IT NOW! They only had 4 in stock...and now only 3. It takes forever for their stock items to come back in, so jump if you can. You won't regret it. Plus the 20% discount, but only till midnight Friday!
