The evolution of Chinese Ring Pommel Dao from the Han Dynasty 202 BC–9–220 AD to the Sui Dynasty 581–618
Hao Dynasty Dao, the first Chinese steel Dao
Sui Dynasty, with the opening of the Silk Road came Near East influences.
The simple pommel ring got ornate intricate decoration (here is twin dragon playing with a fire pearl)
