Hi, has somebody in here experience with SHARP swords from Regenyei Armory? We decided to order this, should be ready and payable in February: www.regenyei.com/en_sp_kriegsmesser.phpBut we are unsure what to expect; any input, please?

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

I once fondled a broadsword from them at a gun/knife show in Dallas, Tx. I don't remember much of the specifics of it, but it was a lively and responsive piece. That messer looks like it would be a fun toy for killing bottles and pool noodles. Holger's gonna like that one!

I had one of their HEMA sabres. It was nice if not overbuilt, but that's a sparring sword, not a sharp, and was engineered to be used as a sword for longer than an actual sharp sword.

Grrr... so unsure! We fear we get another sharpened floppy fencing noodle, like we experienced with Pavel Moc and some Victor Berbekuczs; nice done fencing swords who simply got good sharpening - but construction is wrong, where the POB almost is on the crossguard then! Handling light but strange...

Well, if my sabre was anything to go by you won't be getting what you fear lol.

Regenyei finished my sharp twohander earlier this year. Very nice sword for the price I am really happy of it. Well made sharp in my opinion, far above many other Eastern European makers I've gotten stuff from.
I've experienced those floppy light swords from few Eastern European makers, this is totally different. Of course as it was a custom sword it was built to be sharp from the beginning. Where as many cheaper makers just sharpen their fencing blunts. I think I might order a longsword from Regenyei some time in future too.

I have seen and sharpened several Regenyei "sharps". Expect the edge to be not quite sharp. Otherwise, ok for the price. Stiffness was not an issue so far.

I have a Zweihänder from Péter (Regenyei, the swordsmith), and man! That thing is 1,5 meter long and 2,5 kg, but handles like a dream. Not too, floppy like a lot of long bladed swords. Light, controllable, and feels alive. Even can use it with one hand. Of course, that takes a lot of power and control away, but it is isn't meant for one hand so it's just a fun plus. I ordered mine in 2019 January and was ready in the end of July. He have a lot of orders to fulfill. I hope I could help a little in this matter.
