I found this digging a pond in my backyard. I live in Sonoma County, CA in an area that was mostly fields prior to 1990. This looks to be quite old to me. Any advice thoughts on what it is and what I should do with it?

Stumped for about a minute. It is a U.S. Model 1899 Remington rolling block or Remington-Lee bolt action rifle (long version).
Relic condition. Likely left outside when camping or playing.
There is a product named Evapo-Rust that would clean them up a bit. Utterly worthless but could be regarded a curio of the past.
Cheers GC

Thanks, my browser doesn't give any indication there's a link there at all. Yes, an old broken bayonet. Too bad the old rusty Remington didn't turn up too. The pair would be interesting, if worthless.

Regardless of condition, finding a genuine sword/knife/bayonet offered up from the earth is super cool. Congratulations on a neat find.
