I remembered how I wanted to get the Weapon Edge klewang and never did before they went away, seemingly for good. This one checks all the boxes for me. It looks handy, at just under 2 lbs with a 2' blade and a 5" PoB. It has a broad, straight blade that looks great for cutting. It has a brass hilt. It has a flat D-Guard. It has a short false edge. It's an artillery sword, and I was field artillery. Hard to resist.
Interesting, looks good for an Escrimador. Let us know how it behaves.
Now follows the conclusion, that whosoever shall think or find himself in his fight too weak for the agent's, or patient agent, and therefore, or by reason of his drunkenness, or unreasonable desperateness shall press within the half sword, or desperately run in of purpose to give hurt, or at least for taking of one hurt, to give another, shall most assuredly be in great danger of death or wounds, and the other shall still be safe and go free. - PARADOXES OF DEFENCE, George Silver, 1599

Is it the right angled corner that makes it a stirrup?
This is also the first time I've ordered KOA sharpening, so we'll see how the edge comes. Good to know there are other retailers. KOA is a bit cheaper for US customers, especially with the free shipping going on. The sword, sharpening, and a cutlass frog got me free shipping.
Yes. A D guard doesn't have a flat foot and a P is , well, kinda like a P
Stirrup
P
D
There are, of course "tweeners" and some debatable between a P or stirrup.
My Starr contract US m1818 nco sword, a little slimmer than the British sword
I have a few hangers with blades in the 25"-16" range and it should be a lot of fun. I'd take the grind down a bit but you'll see what I mean once in hand. File or belt grinder to thin out the grind to the edge a bit.
Cheers GC

It arrived. It's a nice solid piece. Thick all the way down. Classy looking. It would benefit from a foible thinning but it is bearable as is thanks to its shortness. I will do a review soon.
JonSchwertFechter: what is maximum file size to post image/picture file on forum.. need to know soon.. thanks

Deleted: The cane I have is a 37" hickory with octagon shaft and a 5.25" opening from end of crook to shaft. It is very light, quick, easy to handle and you could work it like Poppy does in the video. Everybody wants to be Poppy.
