Hi everybody, we want to step on unknown ground and want to add some one or two rapiers to our collection; so please: any recommendations between lets say 200 to 400 USD level? Thank you all in advance...

My Hanwei Taza (battlemerchant) is a good light rapier. It's not a heavy one but 2/3 of the weight is the blade and not the hilt like many Windlass.

The Christus Imperat appears to be popular. As for me I’ll stick with my Pilsen, both are by Windlass. The blade is stiff, stiffer than I believe the Christus, but more importantly it is light for a rapier making it fast and nimble as it doesn’t have all that mess hanging from the hilt. The long quillons and side rings give good protection. It just doesn’t have the perceived appearance of a rapier with the swept hilt. There are several reviews on the forum of both.
PS If your hands are much larger than size 8 the Pilsen is not for you.
