What is the best way to eliminate the rattle in a zatoichi. Bangs around at the point of the blade.

I put compressible foam in mine. Worked great for a few years and then with time got shoved to the bottom of the saya. I noticed a sliver of bright metal between the saya and tsuka one night and closed the gap thinking that I was careless and not returned the blade properly only to find it that way multiple times in the future except the gap over time became larger. After figuring out the problem I was faced with a bigger one, getting the mess out of the saya which I did but it was no easy task. Be careful. I now live with the rattle.
