A friend gave me an old machete a few weeks ago and I gave it a clean today to remove a hell of a lot of encrusted rust.It had bakelite scales with the right side broken and only half remaining.Did a search and all I could find was that Scott Trojan produced tools, knives etc in Victoria Australia, and that this is from WWII era. My mate had it sitting in his shed "for years" and he said his dad had it "for a while" before that, and it seriously had a lot of rust on it but underneath it seemed the blade survived all right. I don't think I will go any further with the sanding but a soak in vinegar, rehandle, sharpen and it should be good to go.Aussie made too which is a bonus.
