Hello, fellow fan of Scottish broadsword. Good to have another of us here
I do not own the sword or targe either, so I have made a slightly smaller than average targe from a broken stool and use a rapier hilted katana, or a saber, as a basket hilt substitute. Either seem to work fine, but someday I'll have the real things too

Welcome from the Canadian Capital. I'd love to get to know a proper basket hilted broadsword but stick mostly to Katana and quiet practice with no shield. Ouro

My rapier-Tana would be in your ally I wonder what George Silver would say about a rapier-tana? I like to think he would approve. A stiff, cutting blade, with a protective hand guard. It can be used one handed or two. I love the thing
