Very-Long Overdue: Jon C.'s Arms/Armor Concepts and Designs

Greetings This Post (in and of Itself is long- take it Years overdue) as with my several Other Arms and Armor Related Creations and Endeavors( the reasons behind are numerous and varied) the Jist is really that I did not have the means to properly establish my self and get some of my var and those many years ago- or in the long years since ... but am trying to finally move forward and accomplish much of what I meant to before and do so now
When I get my site Up and running( at least in a simple form to start with) I'll be able to present a much more refined an in depth Background and Actual refined and Cleaned up (in the Digital sense) Sampling of My long Years(really past toward decades now) of Labor in a Subject I Love Dear. ( in short I'll ramble on even more than here and now:) 
To Begin: I am A very long time- I consider myself among the first( at the very least-- of our current/contemporary Era) to Conceptual Design and Conceive what I like to call "Alternative History" or Alternative Culture" as well as "Historically-Inspired" Arms and Armor and related Accoutrements--- In A dedicated And Well-Developed Level. And with Highly Unique and Original Not only Designs but Design-Lines or Families in many cases With Underlying concepts Both in the Actual Anatomy and Form with intended Use Of Said Weapon. But In the conceived Culture Time Or other context they are made to dwell in.-- While I draw from many sources (including many unconventional, abstract- and some just Plain Weird.. 
lol - I do always try to include some sources(and give Credit where/when it Is Due) but I always look to Advance to my own desired Vision and Inspired outcome . In most cases any given theme or specific design was conceived a good while before being put to paper.

I began even Long Before( and Continued Parallel to and after to present day) such fine Films that showcase "Functional Fantasy" as we oft Like to call them As "The Lord of The Rings Trilogy" and Less well appreciated films Like the "Chronicles of Narnia" and More recently the "Hobbit Trilogy" : i feel that many pieces equally in the Narnia and Hobbit ass well Including many Background weapons and armor were thoughtfully and well conceived and would have been nice to see them get more mention and appreciation(esp. in Places Like this , over the years).--
Many of my earlier(But by no means earliest or all) concepts in the ALt/Hist. genre were inspired by many of these ( more than a few I have Extrapolated and highly diversified on ( some I fell Improving on a great deal)-- Ive continued down many other separated Inspiration/Design paths and Continued also " with my Historically inspired work" i try to go beyond mere experimenting with swapping or trading components of Established Historical Forms( all though many of us do that and that is also fine and well, esp. for casual experimenting)--- but use principles from my OTHER WORK ( which will be shared in the future On theories of sword ( as well as other types of arms) design . Involving principles Ive spent many years also researching and developing involving "Mass dynamics" as I like to call one concept and "A Give and Take Philosophy" and "Of Symmetries and Asymmetries" two others which are also tentative Articles/essays Im long overdue Publishing in some ready/accessible- to Form at least. Outlining and showcasing much of these Theories.
Which I will share more with in the future. These though serve to guide more than Optimal choices in crafting what can casually be called 'Could-have-been' or not only 'Possible-but Plausible' creations as opposed to the more 'Carbon-Copy' historical approach many others veer toward Esp. for Reproduction. --- though for many if not most of these creations and the Alt.Hist/Culture Ones even more- I like the "Probably wasn't -But Could/have Emphasis ..Should-Have been" designation

! But enough Lengthy discourse for now, onto some Picture/Posts----- with many Caveats beforehand ..(to understand in proper context)
Firstly the better quantity of my actual Illustration designs ( over the many years) are done Old school Hand drawn . With some Stylization present in a few places.
this includes some that could be called Draft form ( at least in how they are rendered) Although many of these are still rather refined considering and on point for the goal i was approaching even in many of these instance-- which is an important distinction MAny artists and designers esp. these days I would assume?, (as I am as out of the loop with many things, as one probably can be ) probably Don't- distinguish between the two i.e.- The actual Concept and then how it is rendered/style medium to illustrate (the term i would use).
A great many though are still refined to what I wanted the final design/ the intended goal to be.even in the more numerous Small scale and mixed progressions
-For a number of reasons more traditional pencil and Paper, freehand mostly recorded semi-organized journal Format is how I usually develop, illustrate and design..
- also way back starting out one of my hither-to Goal past designing ( in and of itself) and of course to have said designs translate to full fledged/ and scale steel creations. - Was that i also planned to design for the "Miniatures Business"- with the intent of have high quality weapon/armor designs that would Lead to Accessories to accompanies equally detailed 'Miniatures and collectible Figurines in different genres. So in Lew of that I most often gravitated to a majority of very 'Small-Scale' renderings at the time and more in hind-site a greater portion tend toward a 1/12th or even 1/16th on average of what there Full- scale "Flesh and- Steel" 3D counterparts would be.
strangely I often included small- but important details at this scale (be it a subtle shaping on the terminal of a guard or the shaded contour on an Asymmetrical grip of a Hilt) which most would need to have specifically pointed out and preferable with a magnifier of some sort to be able to see at all/and latterly appreciate ( odd aspect to most Im sure but such is one small example of my many Eccentricities..ha
- Now many more (some basically transcriptions of the exact same small scale versions designs) and others done from the get go at a larger more feasible scale( a few on the 1/1) with Measurements and cross sections and the works (more for presentation and display) and even more so as basis for a actual- Crafted Piece. - as Schematics- at the moment I have no way to scan and up load any of these but I have a friend who has a high quality one who should be helping me with that in the near future ( so I a=can also better learn the Basics of resizing when necessary and any cleanup and tuning associated) so I can do so myself in the future . when I get my own and more necessary equipment i should have.
- Eventually ( soon enough I hope) I want to do (another thing I should have delved into seriously years ago-- and meant to) learn some decent and efficient graphic/Digital design so I can more effectively do work that I can present on Medium like the Site/Forums here and move Like I assume many others doing similar work into the current century... and the same would ideally be done to Transcribe( as I would put it much of my previous work in that format. then hopefully I can better present what most today would consider good Eye Candy
- equally important considering my semi-organized and eclectic ways detailed text descriptions that goes with all needs to be added. While much is documented and numbered to each appropriate design or group across my collection, it is largley in a separate journal mainly do to space limitations where space and scale is divided in most places . ( and much also needs to be back logged and added ( from my cranial vault, as it were that should have been added to begin with. which of course will need to be added in type here at any rate ( and believe me this .....Small book Im writing here is no lean feat for me Esp. as I am neither a speedy, nor efficient typist ( one day DragonNaturally speaking will be setup will make it all worthwhile..hehe 
than maybe couple of my other sincere and equally long aspirations as as Novelist and Screenwriter may hopefully sooner than later be given new life again too.
than maybe couple of my other sincere and equally long aspirations as as Novelist and Screenwriter may hopefully sooner than later be given new life again too. -Lastly for now on the Practical side.--- as I am limited on similar( if much simpler resources) IM going to ... at least to begin with us the only practical means I have at the moment to Post anything-- Which is essentially the most basic (probably considered Rigged- for this purpose) means I have - Basically using a 'Webcam' method to post some of my work to the thread-- So Im going to say in Advance- that what ends up coming out to the post will likley be distorted-- worst case scenario poor resolution , graininess possible compressed or distorted scale even further or dim lighting, delineation even ( which I tried to adjust as much as the tool I had would allow).. so at worst what comes thru might look extremely simplistic or even crude... but is Anything but that.
I leave off for now thanking all with the patience to get thru my long winded (But very sincere) banter . Im sure My Eccentric and unconventional ways shine through,It took alot for me to get that all out. and Hopefully some of my initial postings ( the subsequent ones at least) esp. when I put proper text descriptions to them will help to illustrate what Ive put so much time and energy into .......And I hope what i have to offer will be at least somewhat Interesting, Intriguing, and Enjoyable to all.
