Here is a great piece that Tod put together on arrows vs. plate armor - watch it, you will love it. -

Crossbows and gonnes next There are some adjacent videos that go with that one but excellent footage. The jupon the icing on the cake. It just goes to show that armour was developed to help defeat the weapons. Well done! I'm missing the crossbow builds. Cheers GC

Watching the video and seeing how much the ballistic gelatin shook, and me wonder if the mace is a better model for arrows vs plate?

It reminds me very much of tank armor, the V on the glacis of Soviet T-54->T90, the Panther shot trap at the bottom of the curve, and the German skirts to turn the antitank rifle projectiles. The idea that it is the luck shot ending up in a weak spot is really interesting, and gives a premium to rate of fire.

Thanks for sharing. It did leave some unanswered questions for me but found it informative. I do like the idea that they tried to duplicate a specific time period and location, something often overlooked.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Finally we get to see a arrow vs armor test done correctly. I can't praise this video enough.

So imagine...you saw ONE arrow hit. Imagine 5, or 10...every few seconds. OMG...and that sound made my hackles rise. But I love that the hard breastplate was proof vs the arrows...and the mail...was...not.
