I’m back in the swing of things, doing workouts Monday Wednesday and Fridays. Leg sled, chest fly, tricep, and bicep machines. Doing 10 rep sets at heavy (for me) weights.

Good for you! I've found that doing lots of reps with light weight was more beneficial than doing few reps with heavy weights. It all depends on what your body responds to the best. No one size fits all solutions

Just barely starting (~two weeks of working out three days a week) but it’s starting to work! For someone who was a skeleton before 2018 and then got mildly fat but still weak, this is a promising sign!

That's awesome! It's amazing how different things can inspire us to pursue fitness. Falling in love with the gym because of swords sounds like a unique and exciting journey. It's great to find something that sparks that passion within you. By the way, have you ever considered a PT qualification? It could be a fantastic opportunity to turn your love for the gym into a career and help others achieve their fitness goals. Keep up the sword-inspired motivation and keep rocking those workouts!

Sorry for bumping the thread! Your journey from nerdy to gym enthusiast is seriously inspiring. I've had my own weight gain over the years. But I have to admit, traditional gyms and intense weight-lifting aren't really my jam. So, I've been on the hunt for an alternative that suits my style. Luckily, I recently discovered this awesome fitness studio at hitsona.com/barnstaple/, that's been a total game-changer for me. Their approach to workouts is on another level – short, effective, and actually enjoyable! I've managed to shed some pounds and have fun while working out. No more dreading the machines and crazy diets – it's all about balance and feeling awesome.
