I love using the machines. Free weights are nice too, but the risk of dropping them on myself is too high haha Try reverse curls for triceps.Activates the wrists, forearms, biceps and triceps and increases grip strength.Push downs on a machine too. Thanks for the tip. I don't think I've ever done that one

Thighs and calf muscles are incredibly important for sword play. A good fencer is a low fencer For upper body, chest, biceps, forearms, shoulders are usually what I put more focus on.

Been pushing iron since I was ten years old thanks to Steve Reeves in Hercules. Never got into the public gym thing though, always my own gym. Have accumulated over two thousand pounds in plate weights and eleven weight machines and benches. Usually workout every day.

I've just used the gym at my old apartment and soon the one at my school. Got my first dumb bell though. So there's that

Maybe I'll go back to Djnobbi again Though I do have the advantage of giving others the ability to say "literally no one said that"

Thanks for all the advice guys. I mostly just used machines for triceps but I forgot all about dips and skull crushers
In fact, I forgot about my triceps in general

So I started legs as well as upper body. If anyone was interested, this is the routine that I like best.
Shoulder lift, chest press, row, pull down, leg press, and wrist curls. All machine for now. I prefer workouts that work multiple related muscles as opposed to targeted workouts I have found. Only free exercise I do is planks for abs now.
Edit. Forgot calf extensions.

Do you typically do all of upper body at once?

This gives me maximum workout efficiency with rest days being used for muscles I didn’t work out the day before.

I might steal that so I don't have to live in the gym every day

So an update. I fell off the wagon over the holiday season, but now I’m back and more structured than ever. I’ve started a body recomp program and diet using progressive overload and a slight calorie deficit. I’m having to work around my college schedule so I’m doing resistance training Fridays and Sundays, as well as cardio Tuesdays.

Man, I need to get into some muscle training. I'm in fine shape, but I'd love to get some definition. Plus, stronger legs and body in general would really push my martial arts to the next level.
I've always been worried about doing something the wrong way and damaging myself though....

I've always been worried about doing something the wrong way and damaging myself though.... This may not be true for everyone, but I always give myself at least 24 hours of rest between workouts and tend to reach failure before I actually start legitimately hurting. The burn is good, but serious pain is not.

The burn is good, but serious pain is not. Good to know! Your body talks to you learn to listen to it. Nothing wrong with working out every day as long as you work a different body parts each day. In fifty eight years of pushing the iron I never had any major injury like a torn muscle or tendon. These days I tend to use the machines more than free weights because they cut down the chances of an injury and is easier on the joints. Plus I workout alone so with the machines you don't need a spotter. My humble little gym. Nice set up. I could definitely get a machine or two, my apartment has a pretty big living room area.
