Syntala, here are some better pics of the Italian Shot Sword: www.kultofathena.com/product~item~501056~name~Italian+Short+Sword.htm. A beautiful sword, indeed. As far as I know, nobody here has one (or, at least, nobody's reviewed one). Based upon my experience with several Windlass blades, though, I can give you some idea of what to expect. Having a short blade, about the same as my Windlass Medieval Short Sword, it should be quite rigid with very little flex, though Windlass does a fantastic job of spring tempering their blades, so it should flex very far out of line and return to true, it'll just take a lot of force to do so. Looking at the hilt, it definitely looks like a thread-on pommel, which Windlass also does very well. The couple I've owned and/or handled have nice, beefy 5/16" by 18 thread-per-inch threaded sections. Windlass tangs are not welded and are plenty wide enough to handle prolonged use. As with other Windlass pieces, the crossguard opening where the tang goes through looks a bit oversized, meaning you'll get some movement at that point (a small amount of side-to-side shifting of the crossguard), which is fairly common for Windlass, but hasn't proved to be a structural concern, as far as I've ever heard, just a little annoying at times. Weight and balance should prove to be quite acceptable too. If you like the look of this sword, go for it. For $150, it's a fantastic deal. ![8-)](//storage.forums.net/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

Thanks for the link kriegschwert. I've been in KoA many times and never saw it in there. I agree, it is quite striking. I need to up my allowance or something. I'm finding so many that I want. It's going to be hard to choose which comes first. I really like this one, but I also like that Oakeshott Arming Sword Trueswordsman linked me up to. Decisions, decisions!

Well one of my ex is also 5 feet tall and she really liked the arming sword as well along with the A&A henry the V sword. She found the various short swords from windlass to be nice...but untimately either too short or too long compared to what she wanted. So I would say either the henry the V gen 2 sword or the arming sword would work well for you as a one handed sword. Although she did like the arming sword better as the henry was still a smidge too big for her. She found the arming sword to be a perfect fit.
