iTunes has a $5 sale going on this week in their "sword & sorcery" genre. I've seen about half of these, and own a few. I just bought the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut and Excalibur. Any sleepers in here I should check out?

Gem: I'd say "Centurion" ! Did someone ever hear of those "Highlander" or "Excalibur" movies? The DC of KoH is much better than the original version in my opinion, better storyline. A few of the films I don't know, many I like, but not every movie with a sword in it is a sword movie for me. "Hercules" and "Dragonheart" aren't bad too.

Second for Centurion.
The man in the iron mask isn't bad either.

Third Centurian. It was actually really good. Also the Dwayne Johnson Hercules was very dumb and fun. 300 Rise of an Empire is an acceptable "turn your brain off and enjoy violence" movie, although the excessive slow motion detracts from it.

Good recommendations on here. I put off watching KoH for years because of the bad reviews, but it's among my favorites now. I haven't seen Red Cliff & Centurian yet, but I'll check them out 😎

The first Highlander is a solid good. But you gotta understand " when " it was made with regards to effects, etc. Hell, some of the younguns' here at SBG might not even believe the " cars " in these movies are actual vehicles people drove back in the day. I wouldn't bother with the other Highlander-follow-ups. Legend is also, in my opinion, a solid good. Just a tad " flowery " in spots, if you follow. Hero and Red Cliff are better than good. The latter had me thinking of my all time top-10 favorite The Seven Samurai. For myself, the measure of how much I like a movie is how many times I've watched it.

Something else to check out in this vein, not listed above, Arn The Knight Templar. Exceptionally well done. Comes in a complete-series package, and a one-off movie ... Something else, Alexander, the directors cut version. Again, a movie that got bad reviews, but I actually enjoy watching it from time to time ...

Funny, most of "our" movies rarely get above 50% on rotten tomatoes. The ratings & reviews on this thread are FAR more reliable, in my opinion! 😎
The KoH Roadshow edition that I bought on iTunes is kinda hard to find (on the streaming services, anyway). At 5 bucks with extra features, it's a steal. Now if only it was in 4K...

The extended, two part version of Red Cliff is the one to watch. The shorter cut for western audiences leaves out a lot of context and character building. The movie feels much more like an excerpt from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, rather than a more serious historic take would portray events.
Hero (2002) is a masterpiece. Its shot compositions are gorgeous, and expertly executed. The story is engaging and well told. It has some of the finest action set pieces I've ever seen. I can't recommend it enough.

Blade and The Last Witch Hunter I enjoyed too. Legend isn't a sword movie but a interesting visual show.

The Beastmaster The Dark Crystal Dragonheart Dragonslayer Highlander Krull Labyrinth Legend Wizards
...are absolute classics all, beloved by genre fans and well worth a watch. Fair warning, Wizards is a real trip even if you watch it sober! Also, I'm not sure if Labyrinth actually has even one sword in it, as such, but it does have sorcery and David Bowie's Area.
Plus, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts are, of course, pretty great if you're into sword and sandal stuff.
