Not bad, man. Not bad at all.
I'm a bit concerned with that spot at the edge near the habaki, but I'm assuming that's something on the blade, rather than in it.

You mean the dirt looking streak? Ya that is just on the blade, it still may need some iso alchohol scrubbing to get some of that stuff off or maybe light amounts of the mothers mag. Lower parts were a bit harder to get.

What did you use to etch? Looks good! So ouroboros actually helped me via discord. You slap on some mothers mag polish and let that sit and eat off any old finish. Then clean that off with some rubbing alchohol. Then apply either lemon juice or vinegar to the blade mixed with dish soap and let that sit for a little bit until the metal darkens. (The hamon will stay light as it is harder.) but once the mune and everything else darken, wipe off the vinegar and then spray some windex with ammonia on it to halt the effect of the acid. Finally clean with alchohol again and just rinse and repeat

Looks pretty good! Now, pick up some Hazuya and Jizuya stones, and have some fun.

did you remove the habaki while etching? concerned about this mark I can take some new pictures. I may need to try to get in there with mothers and a toothbrush. if it were mine, the mission would be to remove the habaki. you can't be sure how much moisture and acid got in there unless you remove it, oiling it now with the rust still active won't do much good until you clean it off and stop the rusting process. try gently tapping the habaki with a rubber, wood or rawhide mallet or similar on the top edge of both sides using a wood block pressed against the blade. use a tissue in between if you're worried about scratches. a few taps on each side should loosen it

Likely whatever you used to etch has gotten under the habaki, you have active corrosion now. You will need to remove the habaki, and neutralize the corrosion under it.

Best get the habaki off and kill the active rust that is very likely under it. Try using a piece of wood, wood clothes pin, small block, dowel, and tap a hammer. Since oil made the visible area less noticeable it’s a safe bet that you have rust eating away from the acid under the habaki.

It's one of the only things you cant do virtually--smack together a jig to remove a stuborn habaki. Glad you had fun with your first re etch. There's lots of methods I've seen out there from many websites to here at SBG to the unnamable facebook groups and I think Master Josh of Cottontail Customs might have a tutorial lurking around somewhere....or there...in another realm I know I've read his comments on various methods...then there's an etching tutorial by slav _ Here...ok too many resources to put right here Looks like it turned out pretty good. I hope the habaki comes off! Ouro

If you are having trouble getting the habaki to come off then an easy way to do it is get a block of wood, or really any kind of small wood object with a corner, and tap the top of the habaki with it, alternating between sides. Don't try to hit it on the edge or spine side, only the sides. Like I told you to do with the tsuka, use gentle taps, and if that doesn't dislodge it then start tapping it a little harder until it unseats. If you don't get it off and neutralize and etchant that may have gotten under it then you may find that it won't come off because it's rusted to the blade.
