Introduction
Hello, I bought this sword because I wanted a decent DH T10 katana in Europe with good improved fittings over chinese stuff.Im writting this review cause I just noticed there's almost no reviews on this particular model out there.
I have owned this sword for almost a year.
Historical overview
Im sure the theme being nature related a lot of swords feature such type of fittings. That said this being a modern shinken I dont really want to compare this to a tradicional japanese sword.
Full Disclosure
I bought this sword in a European shop for around 650€ plus ship.
Initial Impressions
In the unboxing the first thing that I liked about it was the silver fittings and how tight this tsukamaki is.
Specifications:
Blade/Nagasa Length: 27.5" (69cm)
Handle/Tsuka Length: 10.625 (26cm)
Sori: 0.5"
Overall Length: 98 cm (with habaki)
Blade Material: T10 Tool Steel
POB (Point of Balance): Havent checked.
Weight: 2 lbs. 8 oz.
Im posting the photos on a separate link so that ppl with lesser internet connections dont lag has much.

The Blade/Nagasa
T10, diferentially hardened typical tradicional blade profile. Not tip heavy, balanced when swinging it around.(easy to stop)
Features a simple prominent hamon, acid etched like other similar products.
The polish is ok, some people might expect better at this price point.
Habaki
-Silver,well fitted but not perfect like costum made habaki.(expected from a production sword)
The Handle/Tsuka
For some ppl it might be "axy" its typical hanwei handle.
The tsukamaki is the tight I have ever felt. The rayskin is ok quality "nothing to writte home about".Un-even diamonds, for me thats has never been an issue at all.
The menuki are silver too, their are a waves, cant comment on the material looks like steel plated in silver.
The Guard/Tsuba
Its supose to be a wave theme? Its the only fitting I dont really like but does its job and its tightly fit.Made from steel.
The Pommel/Fuchi-Kashira
Both have carps on it,they are steel.
Seppa-Silver nice fitted
The Scabbard/Saya
-Not the best fit has a small rattle and doesnt hold sword strongly, meaning a small push on it and u can unsheathe it.
-The SAGEO on it is very tight.
-Real Horn.
Handling Characteristics
-Handles very well, but for me I dont like it a lot because its not tip heavy at all being related to how it tapers towards the kissaki, you dont feel that blade presence, lets say like on mine wind and thunder.
Test Cutting (if applicable)
-Since I intend to sell this has new/uncut I wont be making any cutting vids. But This is very very sharp, It should perform like any other T10 from dragon king. Though I advise against cutting hard targets, because this lack of niku causes edges to take damage easy.
Conclusions
-The sword comes with a nice cloth bag, well packed. I would buy another sword from dragon king I feel these are well made.
Pros
- Very tight Ito,still confortable
- Rather pleasent fittings overall
- Very Sharp
-Love the silver shintodome on tsuka.
Cons
- Blade lacks "blade presence" its too light, maybe im just fat.
- I think the tsuba could have been diferent within same theme.
- Saya ratles ( can this be considered a problem maybe this is a feature nowadays)
All things considered, its a good sword, but at the price at 700 usd or more, their might be better deals out there. Nice collectors piece very eye pleasant to look at because of the silver fittings.
