Sold him my Tori XL light from this this thread: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/57260/fs-hanwei-tori-light-soldclearly the buyer did not read the description and paid no attention to the pictures at all, his messages after he got the sword were absolutely ridiculous i quote : "... I received it today and i found out that the condition is worse than expected. You should have mentioned that ito and sword bag is not included with the order. I understand that you did not mention it in your post but it is customary to have ito and sword bag come in with sword otherwise mentioned. You said you bought brand new from ebay but i think it is like well used and even abused . I think this is the worst used sword that i bought so far. I also found a big chip on saya and crack on Koiguchi where the sharp edge meet. I also thought that habaki is supposed to be rain pattern habaki. Now i have doubt that it might even be tori iaido sword sharpened... " No sword bad and sageo - WTF ??? of course i will remove the sageo from the saya - just for the picture not brand new again WTF ??? that accusation made me very angry (... but this one was obviously used)chip on the saya - again, description states exactly that... habaki rain pattern ? - hello - pictures ? an iaido sword - yes of course cause blade is the same (...) about the koiguchi, im very sure i checked that aswell cause the fit was kinda loose and a option would be a crack, so IMO buyer made that up just to force me to partially refund him or take it back apparently buyer expected a brand new like sword, was disappointed and decided the file in a claim on Paypal. First a partial refund of 100$ for the koiguchi and then !!! item not as described So beware guys of that crook.

What a jerk... if one is buying from you, Kaiyo, its top notch, OR the flaws have been described OR there was some kind of accident; and even then your reactions always were 100% PRO-buyer!

This sounds eerily like any sell to J. Mahmet, a known person in the community that has a habit of buying a piece, is unsatisfied but won't send it back for a refund instead wanting it for even less than he pays. No matter how perfect the piece is, and even if the condition and any flaws are admitted will still claim unsatisfactory and demand partial refund. But won't send it back for a full refund or inspection. And whoa to any that buy a piece from him as he will refuse if you are unsatisfied. He lies about the condition and then says ," to bad you bought it like that"... Just beware. He's been caught many times and only attempts to rectify a problem if called out. He is just one of many scetchy ppl. Beware.

This is exactly the reason I don't use PayPal---and I don't want to start a chain reaction here---and I will only accept money-orders or...personal checks from people I know can be trusted. When the check/m.o. clears, their stuff will be shipped in a manner that I know it will be delivered as safely as possible. I usually take a picture of the package BEFORE I ship it. I hate liars, scammers, and thieves........and Ewoks.....damn, I hate Ewoks....furry little bastids always poking their noses in your business.

I have had an issue like this when selling a knife on another forum. Paypal pretty much gave me the finger , pretty sempriniesque set up, imo. PayPal gave the finger to a guy who put up a claim against me. We did F&F and he decided late that he wanted to back out, but instead of talking to me about it, opened up a case against me. PP basically said, dont use F&F then. I know its rough when it's a legit claim, but they actually protected my account and $850 from that guy. Later we did a return on my terms. I'm not too worried about someone with a longstanding account here scamming me. I always have a name and address that I can cross reference with their old posts saying "I'm in such and such state", so it's tough to take my money if I know where you live

I know people on this website that don't even realize who I am. I've been around since Jesus was a Boy-Scout.

Would be nice to have an actual feasible alternative to PayPal, though, such a monopoly is never a good thing and they've been getting sloppier and dodgier the bigger they grow...

Hence the reason I used the term-'people I know can be trusted'. There are some folk here that I know would die before they would have their good reputation tarnished...me being one of them. Buying ANYTHING on-line is risky enough, but to sully a long-standing good name is a real waste. Honor is won, not bought by the dollar.
