Too few WIPs. So, here's another planned project. The blade (Hanwei) comes from a very reputable forum member.
With a total length of 1080mm this will become a very handy/agile hand and a half sword.

Alright, after I have completed the Bauernwehr, this project here will start next weekend! Pommel will be first thing to be produced. Maybe a bit different from the template. Followed by the guard and the grip. Wish me luck!

Should be in the sword customizing section.

Thank you christain .
@l Driggers: not sure about that, because this project never was a finished sword before.

To me making a sword is doing the blade it's self.

Tbh I agree with Driggers. You're not really making a sword, just customizing a blade.
Looks great so far tho.

Well, it took a while to continue this WIP.
First pommel attempt was a desaster and then other non-sword things waited to be done.
And the curved guard was replaced by a straight one after some struggle. Just have too few swords with straight ones.
I made the new pommel from two half shells and welded them together after grinding the cuttings for the tang. Not the worst solution to be honest.
The guard is in an intermediate state. Not too easy to create octagonal quillons. But I'll manage that, too, sooner or later.
Lathing the grip shells was a stroll in the park and very meditative.
Guard and pommel will be blued. And a premiere for me: grip leather won't become black! Chose a dark purple leather...

Imgur made me say I'm over 18 cause your picture may contain erotic content 😂
Well I suppose it is erotic to the more hard core enthusiasts
I love what you are doing with the build so for tho 😎

Thanks guys! Hm, the imgur 18+ thing is quite interesting. Maybe a weird algorithm that's trained to detect certain body parts in pictures?

LOL! Yeah it didn’t ask me that but then I was fully dressed. Looking great. I’m not really into euros but some of the hilts and scabbards can be beautiful works of art. Certainly think this will be one. Edit: I guess that’s why it’s called sword porn. Haha

Pommel ( imgur.com/a/YYYE0J5 ) and guard are put in place... (no, the right quillon is not longer than the left one)
Sorry for the blurry pictures that look like from the year 2001. When this project is finished, I'll ask the wifey to use her "adult camera" for better pictures.
