Yeah, you see already customized ones popping up in the classifieds now and then, so if you're on a budget (and who isn't) you'll want to keep an eye out for that, both here and on myArmoury plus whatever non-sword-specific auction sites cater to your locale (although you need to be a little more wary than on sword-specific sites). Is a belt sander the best way to sharpen swords then or just blocks of sand paper?

There are different opinions on it. It's the easiest way to sharpen a blade but also to ruin a blade, or at least the tip.

Just do the KOA sharpening service and keep it moving how much reaffirmation is required? Comeon bro. What about when the sharpness runs out? Just checking

Personally, I just like working with hand tools, files and stones and sandpaper. It's less monotonous, and I feel like I get more control and a more personal touch with my stuff. It also makes it much harder to ruin things beyond recovery than with power tools. When the KoA sharpening grows dull or you just aren't content with it... well, that's when you learn to sharpen. If you own and use functional blades, you'll have to learn sooner or later. Unless you're rich enough to pay for professional sharpening services all the time.

KOA sharpening on my h/t longsword was rather miserable. I mean, it cut bottles with good technique, but not cleanly. A waste of money IMO.
20 or 30 minutes draw filing with a new Nicholson file made it scary sharp.
