More important imo is edge geometry rather than the final edge.
If you're referring to the hanwei tinker longsword it should be fine. Learn to sharpen and touch up your edges, all part of owning a sword and you'll have to do it sooner or later
From what experience i have with someone else's HT longsword. It should cut pool noodles pretty well

My H/T Longsword and Viking Sword both came passably sharp, with a prominent but fairly neat and consistent secondary bevel. They were good enough for most purposes to begin with, but I've rounded out the bevels and central ridge on the Viking by draw filing, and touched up both with a diamond hone, and they're much better now in both looks and function. It's not difficult, mostly it just takes focus and patience, and if you're going to be cutting things, you'll have to learn basic sharpening, anyway.

Go slow. Don't use too much pressure. Mind your fingers. If you have long hair, mind your hair.

Oh, and stop every few passes for a quick close look at what you've done, so you catch any mistakes while they can still be corrected (this also helps to keep the blade cool). And make sure there's more than the sword's length of space on both sides of the grinder, and that there's nothing on the ground for you to trip on.

Wear protective goggles (closed ones) >>> important! Keep a wet towel handy to cool the blade down in between passes for quicker progress. And first-aid dressing material, perhaps, lol.

My suggestion is - don’t use a belt sander until you’ve leaned to sharpen well. And even then, you might not want to. A belt sander takes off material super fast. And if it’s a hand held sander, it’s hard to see what’s going on - so it’s easy to make hollows and dented edges. Plus, it’s easy to heat up the edge and ruin the temper... My suggestion is to start with a Nicholson brand bastard-cut mill file ($10 from Home Depot). The Nicholson brand is waaaay better than the no-name ones. You will be amazed at how quick and easy it is to reshape steel with a decent file. And it’s relatively hard to make huge boo-boos. Those require a belt sander

If you can catch it when we have it in stock at KOA you can add additional sharpening for this item and our sharpener will touch up and resharpen the edges in the shop before it ships out.
But if you can learn to sharpen things yourself you will find it to be a useful skill that will serve you time and again, but you should practice on something you don't care about first before sharpening your new Hanwei Tinker.

Thanks man I am thinking about buying it via you guys. I am just looking first to see if I can get one with fittings for a good price.

It's going to be difficult to find one at a better price than KoA unless it's used. LG Martial Arts is another great vendor with great prices. Between KoA and LG you should be able to find the best price. Both companies customer service is fantastic as well.

Yeah, you see already customized ones popping up in the classifieds now and then, so if you're on a budget (and who isn't) you'll want to keep an eye out for that, both here and on myArmoury plus whatever non-sword-specific auction sites cater to your locale (although you need to be a little more wary than on sword-specific sites).

I have a WTB ad up so we will see if anyone replies to that.
