Introduction:
Hey folks, it's Captain General Lord Emperor Adrian here again to share with you a knife. This is a Bowie style knife made by our own(I'm claiming him exclusively as ours...I don't know if he's gonna go for that but we won't know if I don't try) Jason McEntee, aka Voltan, of Appleseed Sharpening Custom Blades. He's a long time member who has made some really awesome stuff. I was lucky enough to get in early on his most recent project and secure a blade. I'm really happy that I did.
Full Disclaimer:
I've known Jason for quite a while now. This is my first time buying one of his products. I have no financial stake in his ventures.
I paid real cash money(PayPal digital money) for this knife.
Jack Nicholson said that Jack Palance was a real a-hole when making Batman. I believe this is especially relevant considering Jason's avatar.
Jason is not a real a-hole. He's a cool guy.
Specifications:

Handle material: Wenge with brass pins.
Weight: 14.8oz.
First Impressions:
Really effing awesome.
Blade:
This is a clip point, Bowie style blade made of 1075. It has a continuous convex bevel from spine to edge. The edge is really, really sharp. It's honestly one of the finest edges I've ever had on a knife. I mean that both in the sense of sharpness and quality. It's a thick, stout blade, starting out at 1/4" at the base of the spine and narrowing to 3/8" at the clip transition. The edge starts out thick and rapidly narrows for about 1 and 1/2". It has a high polish done by hand. Lyndle of J&L Custom Cutlery provided the heat treatment for the blade, so I've no doubt of its quality.
Handle:
The handle is made of slabs of Wenge epoxied on over a full tang, with brass pins inserted to bolster integrity. The wood is well finished and the fitment is superb. The wood's pattern is bold and attractive.
Handling:
It's a stout, heavy knife. It has a fairly neutral balance around the "guard" area. While not blade heavy, it does have an authoritative feel, and would hit pretty hard.
Final Thoughts:
I am a very happy camper. This is an extremely attractive, well built knife. Jason is incredibly attentive to detail, and also very forward in keeping you up to date on the progress of the build. His prices are as reasonable as it gets, and his reputation as a good, trusted maker is well established. If you see him post about any new builds he's embarking on, I'd suggest you do yourself a favor and get in on it as quick as you can.
