Some neat tricks. You do realize that most here do not understand Chinese? I tried to watch the polishing vid you posted but as I cannot understand the language it was not worth it,for me.

Eh, I watched it muted, because what I see is more important than what I hear it videos like this.
An impressive display, I guess, but I've seen it before with many other swords. All the "can chop iron" marketing is decades old by now, and breaking a giant block of ice is not that crazy, either.
I admit, though, that I'm curious what this type of dao is called, as it's a new form to me. "Still used" begs a context, though. Used for what? Chopping iron?

This Dao is call the Husa Dao 戶撒 刀, name after the Husa 戶撒 region there the Dao is coming from. T he Dao is also call AChang Dao, named after the AChang 阿昌 ethnic group that make them. The throwing of a towel is one of the standard way that Husa Dao is tested. When cutting the towel in this manner, the distant between the edge of the blade and the towel is only about 30mm so only very sharp blade can cut the towel in half. Starting 22.05 is the regional competition that pick the best Husa Dao and elect the King of the Husa Dao for that year.
