It's the steel on the inside that counts.

I have to give these a hearty 'thumbs down' as construction goes. I bought a pair many year ago and wound up selling them to a friend. Unless they have changed the design, the edges are not rolled under...just sharp steel that can cut your arms. I guess they would be okay with padded bracers underneath, but as I recall, the straps were a bit short even for that.

I still have mine. The edges are rolled as in the photo. I hit the corners with a file as they were a bit sharp. Mine have a leather backing and stay in place, that is don’t slide down. I don’t like the buckles as they are stamped and the straps don’t easily slide through, but are entirely functional. I wear mine, when I do, over my light gambeson and they are light and comfortable. My complaint is they are made of smooth 18 ga. steel that will dent. I never tried cutting through but I think will offer reasonable protection, not to say there aren’t better choices. My favourite are LoB’s 16 ga. splint bracers from KoA at about DoD’s sale price, but they are not without their issues too.

I had the Del Tin version years ago and gave it to a friend. Ended up getting this awhile back. Cannot see any real differences between the swords. This is a good price for it but the sword is sort of clunky in handling to me. By no means a light and quick one.
