I recently received a sword from France to the US through the two postal systems.
If one bothers to read the initial alarm posts, it is apparently a global transport/ aircraft manifest issue and not a USPS issue. It is not the USPS that needs lecturing.

True. But the very title of the thread says about shipping to Europe in general, which is misleading.

.....and Paul apologized for his "the sky is falling" announcement. That some choose to flail on about it is a bit amusing to me. Instead of quoting my recent experience as unrelated to the premise of Paul's initial post in the matter, it seems to me you should be communicating with him and not me. Reading through the thread might be helpful to you as well but then again, maybe a waste of your time.

I read through the thread. No matter what's within these 10 pages, the title stays unchanged and it is misleading, contrary to many experiences. And I did just that - shared mine.
There is no need taking my reply personally, nor assuming what I did/didn't and giving me advice based on such assumptions. I am not blaming *you* for the title after all.

Yet, your quoting me implies you are expecting me to reply. I do so again out of common courtesy. If you have an issue with the thread header, you should communicate it directly with Paul. Or not.

ANY UPDATES? This could really hurt me as a one man business... I think a summary of the previous 10 pages would be that generally orders to Europe are fine but some orders to European countries, not including Germany, Poland and the UK, do seem to suffer issues when dispatched via USPS only.

I have changed the title and tried to update the original post.
I apologize if it was misleading, shipping to Europe is currently impossible for us (SBG) - even shipments to Germany are not making it out of Hong Kong while many China based sellers seem not to have a problem and we still can't get the bottom of that one..
The title was made during a time of extreme frustration at having all our shipments start bouncing back and the associated very heavy financial losses, which as a tiny business left us with the equivalent of a bloody nose.
For the time being, we are very cautious about attempting shipping again to Europe unless the customer is aware of the risks up front as well as the additional costs. For example, if someone in Europe wanted to order a Project X Custom Katana, its too risky to send direct from China via HK, so we would have to ship from China->Hk->Texas and then, as USPS to Europe is an issue, find a DHL or Fed Ex branch that will accept the shipment (some do, some don't) and send it fully insured..
No idea how much all that would cost, but the days of free worldwide shipping are well and truly behind us..
Okay, I need to take a breath. This topic really upsets me and I do find it hard to remain objective when our industry is threatened by unclear and unfair shipping issues.

I understand your situation and how uncomfortable it obviously is. Thank you for having time to make it clear again.
I hope this is just temporary and will get back to normal soon. I wish you best of luck.

I have shipped about 10 swords to EU since March of 2019. On the customs form I describe item as a “ theatre prop “ or a “stage sword”. Ive never had a problem. YET

I read that a lot of deaths and injuries were due to motor vehicles...many thousands per year. So motor vehicles, like weapons, are going to be banned? Right? I mean, the various leaders of the EU and other countries aren't hypocrites or just want to disarm the little people so they can impose a tyrannical dictatorship or such, would they? Nah, political leadership only cares about the good of the little people....
