Two days ago I got my new Windlass Centurion Gladius. The new Windlass swords in the last years have better looking hilts and scabbards, they seem to have increased the cooperation with Marto for this reason. Battlecry and my new Windlass gladius have a Windlass/Marto stamp on the blade.
When I get a new Windlass I usually try to screw off the pommel or pommel nut to inspect the tang. I tried it with my Centurion and I could screw off the pommel nut easily, but the hilt seems to be epoxied to the tang. Too bad I couldn't disassemble it because I wanted to know if the guard and pommel are hollow. They are bronze-ish (pot?) metal pieces and very light for their size.
What's with other new Windlass swords, any experiences? Any one else who has found epoxied hilts on a newer Windlass or is this only my Centurion?
I always appreciated that I could disassemble swords easily, at least for the Sword Construction Database.

I think the steel has gotten harder over the past year or so. Just got the NCO new model, and it put some gashes into two windlass swords purchased about 2 years ago.

All my Windlass Swords (except for the 1840 NCO and the Musketeer Main Gauche) seemed to be epoxied to some extent. Most had the Windlass/Marto stamp.

I noticed epoxy on more recent purchases like my XIV & d guard Bowie.
I'm a fan as it saves me doing it.
