ah, that's groovy. i still think it's hot. jasonThanks Jason , gonna make a sheath for it soon so I can actually put it to some good use. Matt, I tell you I did the same thing, but planning ahead really makes a WORLD of difference, jut takes a bit more time to nail down your concept. I still like to leave a good bit of room for improvising, for example I have the fullers and blade for the longsword all planned out, but have no idea what to do for the hilt and will probably just wing it a bit to see what comes out.

I usually have a whole product in mind, but it never looks quite the way I wanted when finished. I plan each making step thoroughly though. Especially with handle fittings.

It's also not just what you want the final product to look like, you have to plan ahead on how things are going to fit together, thicknesses and angles and tapers, it is pretty tricky but gets funner evertime.

Superb. I plan to make a sheath for my current project knife, which is nearly finished. I want it to be leather, but I want some sort of liner to keep the oil (which I will coat the blade with) from damaging the leather. Nylon, maybe?

Looks good. I think this is simple but detailed. I like the lines.
