Hi Everone! I live in beautiful central Iowa and have a professional background in wood and metal working.
I'm nearing retirement and recently have became interested in swords. This last week, I have taken advantage of the knowledgeable folks on this forum and read, read, read. It's impressive the amount of information the SBG members have. Thanks for sharing your skill and wisdom as this newbie learns.

Welcome to the forum Bruntson. I like history and find swords and such a good way to understand some of the whys that I had trouble understanding before. To tell the truth since retiring I have difficulty understanding how I ever found time to work. Hehe Life is great!

It basically means once you start you will never stop lol. You start with a budget piece and next thing you know you either have 20 swords you or you have joined the custom club. |

To late.....I've always wanted a saber and when Amazon dropped the price of the Cold Steel Polish Saber to under $200, I hit the buy button.
I hope I chose wisely on a first sword.

Hello, Brunston! While I'm not too well versed in the historical side of blades, I AM quite knowledgeable in the making of blades. and heat treatment. If you decide to start down the path of blade making, drop me a line. If I don't know the answer, I know someone who does. Good luck, man.
