Me and my friend Josh
I bought this sword for $40 not expecting too awful much. But it turned out to be a great sword. The main reason i bought it was that i was on a budget andneeded wanted a real sword that was not Japanese/Chinese/Ninja. Nothing against them I just wanted a Medieval or a Gladius sword. I was shooting a little high for my price range. There are not too many battle-ready swords that are sub $50.
The shipping was amazingly fast, i ordered it and it came 2 days after with regular shipping methods.
Statistics:
Blade Length: 17 1/2 inches
Hilt Length: 5 1/16 inches
Overall: 22 3/4 inches
Guard Height: 1 inch
POB : 3 1/2 inches
COB: 10 inches
Weight: 1 1/2 lbs
Fit and Finish
Wonderful feels very sturdy and has a thick tang. It was not sharp out of the package it came with the standard 1 mm edge. I bought Smith's 10 sec sharpener and it came out nicely. A little too sharp if i may add. I thought it take 10 minutes like Paul said it might. My finger still hurts from that edge.
[shadow=red,left,300]The Blade[/shadow]
Feels, like I said before, sturdy and thick, the thing cuts with ease through any target I've put it up against. (cans, bottles jugs, etc.) The blade itself was nice, but had some cosmetic scratches that you can clearly see in some of my pics.
[glow=red,2,300]The Grip[/glow]
The Grip is the main fault of this sword. It is very short which can be annoying for people with large hands. A more annoying part is the 2 tacks on the one side of the grip. But I found by putting your palm on the apposing side (one without tacks) it makes it much easier to cut. Sorry the picture I took that has the tacks has gone missing...
[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]The Scabbard[/glow][/shadow]
I have no complaints
The Grips seems to be made out of plastic with a wooden intereior. I like it it not only matches the sword but seems to be somewhat historicaly accurate. The Cossacks and Persians used this, The entire sword actually is traced back to being the first Roman Gladius.
[shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300]Cutting/Thrusting[/glow][/shadow]
Like I said, cuts really well and I don't really feel afraid to tackle heavier targets.
In all I recommend this sword to anybody on or off a budget. It Is a neat little sword. And I love it, BUY IT NOW!!
Ratings :

P.S.- this is my first review go easy one me... please?
