So I know the kris knife has a wavy blade, Im wondering what the purpose of that is and what the kris knife is most useful for.

While wavy blades are common on kris/keris, straight blades are also common. "Wavy" is not an essential part of their kris-ness. So waviness doesn't provide a necessary function.
The main function of waviness is decorative/magic. If you want to look for functional explanations, it will make it harder for somebody to successfully grab the blade (i.e., without getting their fingers shredded), and gives you a wider blade for a given weight (thus, wider stab wounds, but at the cost of more difficult penetration).
Purpose of kris/keris? The Indonesian version was a stabbing dagger (until about 100 years ago), and is a dress item (for the last 100 years). The Philippine version was a cutting sword used in battle.

So anyway, this is going to sound really dumb so anybody who chooses to continue reading you've been warned.
Somebody once said, regarding the Kris knife, that its Bella Swan's weapon of choice. You know, the character of Bella Swan from Twilight, her weapon of choice is the Kris knife and she uses ten of them.

No character or scene in any version of Twilight has anything remotely approaching that level of goofy awesomeness, no. It's honestly a surprisingly mundane and boring franchise, if you can (or want to) look past all the insultingly thoughtless, downright unhealthy relationship dynamics (and sparkly vampires). Bella in particular doesn't fight anyone, or do much of anything at all - she's really just a blank slate for the target demographic to project themselves onto.
