Seems like something that would be right up Fable Blades' alley, don't it?

Marto's Prince Valiant Sword in carbon steel. I don't know how long I can resist the Marto. Windlass had done one a couple of decades ago, along with a shield and helm. It was on my own wish list, even after discontinued but the years have passed us by. princevaliant.org/armour.htmlI compensate with my Windlass Sleepy Hollow sword. That and dozens of antiques that for all intents and purposes are no more than functional wallhangers. Attachments:

I'll nominate several Kit Rae designs: Avaquar, Anathar, Mithrodin, Avoloch and the Mithrokil short sword, maybe the Ellexdrow war spear. The Avoloch would have to have that little blade at the back of the hilt removed, or at least curved away from the hand; the secondary blade on the Ellexdrow would have to be similarly modified, if not removed; maybe give the Avaquar double fullers instead of that split blade.

I deleted my post about the Prince Valiant sword after I took a look into the comic book again. The Singing Sword usually has a longer handle for two hands. I know a Marto version for Germany ( "Prinz Eisenherz"): It's a nice sword, but not the one from the comic books. It would be fine if Windlass would make a functional Singing Sword with the right fittings.

I am about to commission a functional version of Arwen's sword from The Lord of the Rings. It's called Hadhafang and it was an invention purely for the film, it does not appear in the books. Many look at it and believe it was based on the katana, but that's purely aesthetic. The design memo for the artists at Weta when it came to the Elves was Art Nouveau and Samurai culture. When one looks at Hadhafang, one can easily see both aesthetics. Practically, however, it was based on European and Oriental sabers, in this case the Cossack Shashka saber. The officially licensed replica is beautiful, but I want a real sword, dammit.
Scorpion Swords makes a version of this sword, but it's eight inches too short and has an integrated handle. I emailed them yesterday to ask if they could increase the proportions and give me a hidden tang. The answer I received was in the affirmative. I am not sure how long it will take me to receive the sword, but when I get it, I intend to etch the blade myself with the various vine motifs and runes. It will be a long and annoying process, but in the end I will have a functional version of this sword. The only difference will be the pommel. I cannot fabricate a brass pommel like the original, so I have asked Scorpion Swords if they can adhere a brass washer/cap onto the end of the pommel. It will be very close, but not identical. I'll be sure to post again when I have an update.

I'll second the Mithrodin--always liked that one a lot.

Definitely the master sword from legend of Zelda. I would prefer the way brenno did it, but even a carbon steel version of the exact dimensions from the video game would be totally awesome

I really like Peter's sword from the Chronicles of Narnia, perhaps some strong childhood nostalgia, but I think it would make a very functional sword.

An only 4 lb. weighting Atlantean! I've long agreed! Hell, I'm certain they could get it to 3 lbs or less if not insisting on exact a look thickness wise, with thinner, realistic starting stock; especially with hollow hilt furniture and resin inside, or perhaps even carved wood with a metal leaf over it.

An only 4 lb. weighting Atlantean! That would be cool! I always liked the father's sword too even though it was cast--lol

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

While the Hanwei Lowlander is functional (kinda), I'd like to see a version 2.0 with a beefed-up tang and a peened pommel. And, I'm still waiting on the *supposed* Kingston Arms zweihander. I hope it's a flamberge blade that will be totally functional and not have an Albion/A&A price-tag on it....but I figure I can crap in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up faster.
