Howdy folks. It's a bit last minute, sorry, but we thought we'd get this ball rolling. This year we're trying something a little different. We are going to do this years Holiday Giveaway in three parts. Here's how it'll work:
Three separate threads will be opened, one for Halloween, one for Christmas and one for New Years. By participating in each thread you'll gain a point, which will give you an extra random number for when we do our random number generator picks on prize day. So if you only participate in one you get one point, two and you get two points, etc.
Part one is Halloween. To gain an entry for this part you'll need to submit a current Halloween-y photo of a sword/axe/knife of yours. Boom, that's it. No photo editing, please. Just practical stuff. Please submit your entry here in this thread.
As this is kind of getting slipped in just under the wire the rules of the next two parts and prizes will be added later. We haven't had any Halloween stuff for a while, which is shame on me, and it's always a favorite to some shoehorning is to be involved, hahaha.
We're looking forward to seeing what gets put up!

Since Halloween is an old Celtic holiday, I thought a picture of my Del Tin Celtic Sword, next to a pumpkin carved with an image of The Horned God (possibly know as Cenunnos), would be appropriate.

My costume this year at work (Front desk clerk at a hotel) was the Man with No Name from Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns. Hence my hat over my sabers and a few other of my various sharp things. ![]()

Not to go off subject, but I have found that I can email myself a photo from my phone, which offers to downsize the outbound pic. Then I can open the email attachment from my inbox, and download the downsized pic to my phone. It’s a bit of a work-around, but it’s an all phone based method.

Off topic or not, we appreciate all advice on how to make images work for the forum, especially for those who have to use their phones to post. Thanks.

if i print out a picture of a pumpkin and put it next to my sword would it count? lol You know what? Sure. These are more about getting people involved and having a good time, so pumpkin picture? Sure. Skeleton paper daisy-chain? Sure. As long as it's got some Halloween in there somewhere. Have at it.
General update:
I'll be opening a "master thread" here in the Announcements section to keep track of donations and participants. Speaking of prizes, we've got a couple of folks who've come forward and pledged items.
