I have been shopping around the SBG store for viking swords. I have looked at quite a few offerings and most of them seem to be of good quality though some probably handle better than others.
As a starting purchase I am leaning toward purchasing the Windlass Ulfberht Viking Sword. Have many of you tried this sword in the past? What are your thoughts on it? I read the review and apparently it is a fairly good sword for the money.
Later I will go up the later and get a Euro viking sword and then compare the two myself. Once I get the sword I will get a shield to go with it.
Any thoughts?

I have one. Like it a fair bit. Quite good for the price.

It is considered by many to be one of the better entry “Viking” reproduction swords.

Be sure to get a good round shield to go with it. PS that's the one I plan to get eventually.

Yes, pair it with a shield, and it's got significant blade presence. Mine needs epoxy or something dumped in the handle, as it loosened up with many many bottle deaths. But they tend to be solid and a great value. And if memory serves, I've seen it on discount once or twice, so you may get lucky.

It is listed on MRL for $209.00. That is the price without the coupon code applied which gives you 10% off.
It might be listed cheaper elsewhere. I will browse a bit more to see what the lowest price is.
I found it listed on Kult of Athena also.
By the time you add cost for sharpening, shipping etc I don't see much difference in the cost.

Sword and shield, that's a good combination. I understand the Ulfberht is a good sword and from time to time is on the DoD.

I saw this shield on Kult of Athena.
According to review it is a pretty stout shield and can withstand some abuse!!
