I am looking into a new defense system. A mace that is small, and can break bones. I am tired of my options being bleed a guy out to stay safe. Ever see a guy regret his entire life as he bleeds out? It sucks. I want to defend myself without making serous injuries. In a conservative majority gun toting forum, I feel this isn't too much to ask

I ask cause I deply regret my life. I grew up with a dad as a drug dealer and it never got better. But I wanna defend myself. I find weak people I can beat up, but I find a ton of strong people too. I am sick on injuring my knee badly. I wanna make it home. How can I do this

Are guns completely illegal to carry in Canada? You could also, if possible for you try moving to the U.S.. I hear Texas is nice.

Purpleheart Armoury has an assortment of combat-rated canes. They have some canes with metal sword-pommel knobs and some made entirely of hickory (which is what I recommend for a variety of reasons). You mention knee issues, and a cane would be a entirely justifiable piece of medical equipment to carry in public, especially if you are wearing a visible medical support device (like a knee brace).

I second Zenhydra’s recommendation of a cane. I carry one wherever I go. By international law you can carry one anywhere. However, that law defines a cane and what you might consider a cane will not meet their definition. A crook (my favourite), tourist, fritz, and derby handle, amongst a few more, are legal. Hiking and walking sticks, knob handled canes are not included. In fact depending on the area just walking down the street with a knob handled cane could wind you in jail as they consider it a weapon, NYC is one. I don't know about Canadian law. Below is an URL that might be helpful. www.canemasters.com/

I agree that a cane is a great choice. I walk with one periodically, and I've studied it's use. Never had to use it except to defend my dog, but I'm comfortable with it as a deterrent. I have a variety, and the heavy knob head version would perform much like a mace. If you want a cheap, decent head for a short mace, this is a good option. www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=401000400&name=Steel+Mace+Head I have one mounted on a 16" ash haft, and its brutal. Not subtle, but very effective. Something like a tire thumper or fish bat would be less obvious as a weapon albeit less effective. I've toyed with the idea of getting a French pattern rolling pin for plausible deniability. 18" of we'll turned rock maple that is unquestionable as a kitchen tool sounds useful. A key fob of a billiard ball in a monkey fist maybe?
