Hey guys,
Some exciting news - it is now less than 10 days before the official launch of the dedicated website for our Fantasy Project, and it is in pretty good shape for the official launch of it in beta 1.0.
All of the lands have been edited and entered into a clickable map, the legends collated together, the bestiary brimming with all manner of monsters, including all of those from the brainstorming thread and double that number of my own as well as classic monsters such as Orcs, Goblins, etc - though most are not at all generic..
The webcomic is ready - chapter one in both classic hand drawn style and digital style is ready and waiting to be read. And it's not lightweight either, with an average of 20 panels per chapter and 8-12 chapters per 'book'.
And of course, all the swords have been detailed out with behind the scenes 'making of' pages for each one, notes and tips on designing fantasy swords, and even a 'submit your design for critique' free service.
Then there are the galleries of the original fantasy and swords and sorcery art we have commissioned or licensed so far as well as short version portfolios of some of my favorite fantasy artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
All in all, over 200 pages and growing - and an active blog that has documented the process from day 1 (even though not many people were reading it yet, it is all there for posterity) and even a private area members lounge for contributors.
You can see the official countdown timer to launch here and even sign up to the Legendary Swords Newsletter, which will let you know when we go live as well as notify you when each issue of the webcomic goes out, when we have a new competition or prize draw, and general project news and updates.
Over the next few days, we will be sending out some early bird invites to people who have contributed to the initial threads - so if you contributed, keep your eye on your email inbox as I will email you your account log in details via the email you have on file and send you a quick PM to confirm.
All in all, it's coming along nicely - and I can't wait to reveal it in beta to you all in less than 10 days time.
Talk again soon!
