Last year Photobucket announced that 3d party posters who wanted to stay on Photobucket were going to have to ante up 300.00 a year for full service usage of their system. No surprise that the users community has been answering with their feet. Big P has destroyed their customer base, as small user still have options to use other programs such as imgur to do the same thing for free.
I have a rather large data base built up at Photobucket. I started saving there when I got into posting articles here some 9 yeas ago.
28 Jul 2018 Photobucket raised a white flag. Announced they fired the management team who thought they could shake down the community. The 3d party used community is now offered a more reasonable scale, with full service use for about 70.00 for 50 Gigs.

Good. When that transpired I was rather ticked off, and I used photobucket for maybe all of 3 or so sword reviews. The way it bricked your excellent sword compendium was a serious loss for this website.

I have always paid Photobucket for system storage, so I was given an extended deadline from them. What problems I had here were with the SBG server itself, and some IT crisis management decisions that pulled the wrong plunger. Pissed off I am guilty of deleting many unharmed reviews, myself. Some day I may have the time to do more.

Especially given the variety of reviews/posts that are still viewable from years ago despite having far less content than yours. Hope you opt to re-post the ones that disappeared at least, if possible. For me they were extremely helpful (and fun) reads.

I forget who it was, not really important at this point, but someone was going through old stuff and deleting what they deemed no longer relevant or what have you, but due to a glitch they accidentally wiped out a few active, recent, and/or otherwise popular or important threads. No recovery available, everything was lost. Some anger, some yelling, some moving on.
Unfortunate, but there it is.

Especially given how many 'reviews' still exist that cover essentially nothing other than 'buy it because I did'. Ah well, cheers to moving forward!

I might go back to them, looks like my old login won't work unless I chose a plan. The beginner will probably be big enough for me.

My experience has never really changed. I got onto Photobucket so long ago that back then they were still actually quite good. It's been very disheartening, watching them go from arguably the best free service around to a clunky, mismanaged, unreliable, fully opaque mess of a mediocre-at-best subscription service.

I've never given Photobucket a cent. Free account some 14 years going now? Only thing I've noticed getting worse was ads, especially on mobile. Worst thing I ever had to do with their hosting restrictions was change embeds to thumbnails. I have 958 photos and that's only 8% of what I can store.
Navigation is ugly as sin, though...
