Watching "The Duellists," which is free on Amazon Prime US, based on tips here in the forums. Thanks to all who mentioned it!

Bloody great film, and although the fencing isn't really all that accurate to real life (it's a bit of a hodge-podge of disparate influences and compromises, overall) it's still really good cinematic stuff!
William Hobbs is one of my favorite fight choreographers ever - awesome dude, amazing career, incredible filmography to the point that, no joke, if you've ever liked the swordfights in a Hollywood movie he was most probably involved in it. Right up there with the classic Hong Kong greats, IMO.
PS. Well... he was. Still not used to that, damnit... *sniff*

I don't worry too much about inaccuracies. Not nearly as bad as many films, plus as Amberger points out in his book, even for very well-trained fencers under the pressure of dueling with sharpened weapons a lot of technique goes out the window. And the character Feraud was, as was part of the short story, not from the upper classes and hence did not get as much training in swordplay but he was very strong and athletic and moreover had a killer instinct.
