Hi everyone so as some of you might know Longship is making my dream sword, a fetter lane, I would like some opinions on multibar designs, we are thinking about going 4-6 bars of l6 and o1 and i would like some ideas, the edges are also going to have high layer counts, i was thinking something like this with 4 bars and interrupted twist bars maybe but would love to hear everyones suggestions, its also possible for both sides of the blade to have different multibar designs so shoot over some ideas

ok so me and collin decided on a 5 bar serpent design with layered edges on 1 side with 1 fuller and the 4 bar with interrupted twist on the other side like the pic i got on top but with twin fullers the serpent is gonna be like this but instead of the mono edges its gonna be layered pattern, should fit the fetter lane's serpent themed grip very well

So I decided for 2 completely different patterns One side is going to be this with twin fullers and high layer edges Other side is going to be this with triple fullers and high layer edges

feathersnake in danish. The oldest known name for multibared pattern welded pattern is "wurmbunt" (wormcoloured) for germanic swords of the 5-6th. cent.

little update, Collin is gonna make the twisted bars go clockwise in the left and counter clockwise on the right on one side, and then clockwise on the right and counter clockwise on the left so that you can tell there are six bars in the core of the blade, very interesting to hear and i cant wait to see how it turns out
