Im in the process of buying my first katana and while im doing my research, i saw this company ‘watariblades’ and i just want to know if anyone here have experience doing business with them. Their prices is very competitive and according to their website, all their blades and hand forge in japan. Just curious about their quality compared to cheness or ryujin of from other sub300$ swords out there.

I don't know them, but if they claim that their blades are made in Japan then you should run. A cheap authentically Japanese made sword is in the thousands of dollars for a bare blade, and hundreds to thousands more for the fittings. If the first thing a vendor tells you is an outright lie, then I'd not be comfortable doing business with them. Looking at their options just now I don't see anything to really justify the prices they charge or their claims of quality.
Right now the two vendors putting out the best affordable custom/semi-custom options are Huaweisword on eBay and Sinosword.

Went to the site. The photos reek of chinese ebay forge. The fittings and wrap are the biggest giveaways. Then there's that bo-hi termination... They probably just have a rep living in japan to try and make a semi honest claim.

WARNING DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!! I just wanted a nice sword for Halloween purposes and knew this was not an authentic Japanese sword yet they still charge several hundred. I emailed them and asked if they could expedite or express make one in time for Halloween. They promptly responded within several hours. Promised me within 40 days. It has been 3 months and nothing. Every time I emailed or contacted them there is no response now. Complete crooks and if they was a way for them to get criminally prosecuted I’d be the first to sign a letter.

Greetings, There is no way in Hades to purchase a genuine handmade sword in Japan at those prices. If you want something hand forged out of Japan at affordable prices you have to look at what became of the sword makers. honmamon-japan.com/collections/outdoor-knife
