I have a greatsword which needs a custom pommel, and I'm having a hard time finding a smith or someone with a milling machine and an interest in a pommel commission. I'm currently leaning towards an Oakeshott type J pommel (about 6.5cm in diameter and a width from hub tip to hub tip of 4.5cm). Anyone interested, or have any recommendations?

Yea the printed armoury dunvegan pommel might do the trick. Also the hanwei tinker single handed sword, bastard sword, and gsow have somewhat similar wheel pommels you can consider. Maybe someone has one to sell

None of those are big enough. I really need a custom pommel.

printed armory could make u a custom one, not sure how much you are willing to pay but also Rende David on facebook can make u a good one but it will be pricey depending on exactly what you want

A pommel with those dimension would be quite heavy. Do you know roughly what weight the pommel needs to be? To find out you could just stick things to the tang using tape and when it feels right just check the weight using kitchen scales.

The pommel needs to be somewhere in the range of 450 gr to 600 gr, and as you can see it is a very big sword. The design parameters for this custom blade involved withstanding the forces involved with cutting the legs out from a running horse.

Looks good. Where is the blade from? I made a quick 3D model based on the dimensions you gave us. It calculates the weight as well. With 65mm diameter and 45mm width it would be over 770 grams or 1.7 pounds...
