'Cause I know what Caltrop's are. Some lands call us... The army of two 😎 Also. I cannot wait to take some badass photos. With my new equipment, I am quite confident I would look pretty cool. I dunno if I will win, but I would have some kick ass photos at least

I've got my pack all put together. A 2-liter bottle of water, with water-purification tablets and a purification straw, 3-day supply of high-energy food rations, fire-making equipment(several Bic lighters, matches, flint and striker), first-aid kit, spare socks, 8'x10' tarp for shelter, multi-tool, glow-sticks, small hand-crank lantern, small hammock, palm-size New Testament....I'm ready to travel the wastelands.

Tools and weapons will include: Cold Steel Gladius, Bowie knife, Long-bladed hewing spear on a short shaft, pocket knife, binoculars, compass, lock-picking kit, and a lump of pilfered C-4 plastic explosive. (Shhhh....nobody's supposed to know I have that! )

I don't even know where to begin with my equipment. It is too much tbh
Plash palatka (russian poncho/tent), aluminum camping cook set, WW2 polish cooking thing, vintage first aid kit, steel water bottle, 2 large survival blankets, a large roll of gardening twine (strong, green and good for temporary shelters), Duct tape, garbage bags, paracord, saw, knife, hammer/crescent wrench and many other things I can't think of.
Weapons: Naginata, Condor Kukri machete, Condor HD kukri, aaaannnd... Not sure what sword I would take. Either my Sword of Danu (even if dull, it would still crack a skull, plus is a mean thruster), or my Spanish 1895 (for being long and light)
Could I carry this all? For a bit. But long distances? Hell naw. I gotta downsize somehow

Some say its better to read and memorize those, but I ain't got the brain space for that.

Oh, heck! I forgot the 550 para-cord, duct tape, and plastic bags! Sounds like you're abducting little kids instead of adventuring in the Apocalypse.

Your latest avatar, Trap, is kind of scary and gives me the willies. Where did you find such a specter? Makes me wonder what is going through her mind (expressionless face and...is that blood) and why she is in that situation. I would, of course, run screaming.

Yeah, duct tape, para-cord, plastic bags...to a non prepper crowd that can certainly conjure disturbing images. That is about halfway towards taking the dudes license plate down for the police. Throw in cartoon videos, balloons, alcohol, condoms and you would have full on potential psycho killer on your hands. But usually you get things that actually go with the tape, cord and bags, like shovels (wait...SCRAP the shovel ), survival food, pots & pans, seeds, tents, sleeping bags, clothing, etc...so context would be everything.

Hell naw. I gotta downsize somehow While I think poorly of the M1895 as a cavalry weapon, it is a very nice handling infantry sabre. Get the rig right and you can walk around very comfortably due to its light weight, plus you'll never have to tighten anything or worry of the grip or hilt being loose.

All right, people. Head's out of arse's . I'm not a child molester. Para-cord=Game snares, booby-trap's, and about 1000 other things. Duct tape and plastic bags= Dry feet. Kind of a 'must-have' when traversing the badlands.

Plastic bags on the feet also don't leave footprints. Edit: They will leave prints, but they look like 'bunny-hops' in snow, undetectable on solid ground.

Kind of a 'must-have' when traversing the badlands. It was a joke based on the non-prepared vision of those items, hence the smiley face. I keep all those things in my car everyday except the duct tape. Aside from tying down items from Home Despot, I've been stranded several times so I always keep that stuff and a whole lot more in the car at all times-spare clothing, fire starting, cooking gear, wool blanket, water purification, backpack, knife etc.

Just bumping this up- a little over a month left to enter. Within the next week I should be posting my non-eligible take on the scenario. Some of you should find it interesting and amusing.

This is not a contest entry, just my take on some of the weapons and gear of the Post Apocalypse explorer/scavenger- Here are a few of the pics I took: i.imgur.com/gE9UoZO.jpg - Starting from the top: bowl, steel cup that can be cooked in, sugar cone, salt, cinnamon, pepper, garlic powder and baking powder, licorice root (for snack or constipation), two jars of honey, three small loaves of bread, 1 lb of flour (behind bread), Dried peas corn and vegies for a quick soup.- not pictured- small cast iron fry pan and tea i.imgur.com/GrkPYhO.jpg-leather covered water bottle, large squares of cotton cloth, small squares of cotton cloth and strips of cotton cloth- the cloth can be used for washing, bandaging, water filtration (more on that soon), the strips can be used to tie things/bandages in place or be used in conjunction with oil and a stick to make torches- the plastic bottle (cut into 2 pieces) is used to filter water. the funnel piece is lined with a piece of cotton- crushed charcoal (the two small jars) is then placed on top of the cotton and then another piece of cotton is placed on top. Water is poured into the top of the funnel, passes through the cotton/charcoal/filter and comes out purified. It is best to boil the water for a minute first. i.imgur.com/0SviKmQ.jpgi.imgur.com/MOLn9lg.jpgi.imgur.com/CjuIse5.jpgLeather shoulder bag to hold most of the tools: roll of lock picks, tomahawk, small camp knife, fire starting kit, small pellet gun scope, slim shim, pry bar, 4 spikes, 2 oil flasks, sharpening kit, knife and over sized fork, grappeling iron and 30' of braided silk rope- not pictured- small shovel and a box of pre apocalypse waterproof matches for emergency- very hard to come by and very expensive in the post apocalypse world i.imgur.com/1016hDt.jpglong bow, long bow case and arrows with a quiver i.imgur.com/5c9ZH9k.jpgi.imgur.com/BMoSLqa.jpgi.imgur.com/K7rC1wC.jpgi.imgur.com/EWunrK0.jpgWalking Spear made about 20 years ago from a straight hoe. Note the incremental colored dots on the haft for measuring foot prints when tracking- Overall length-52 1/2 " Blade Length- 5 1/4" Blade Width- 3/1/4" Bowie Knife- Overall Length- 16" Blade Length 10 3/4" with lined wood scabbard with brass pins Sword - I made from a Windlass straight Kindjal about 35 years ago Overall Length 22 1/4", Blade Length 16 1/4" The actual pics of me in garb carrying this stuff to come, with a couple of surprises - just awaiting a nice weather day
