Check this out - it's some kind of African shillelagh that I've had for awhile. My sister brought it back from Kenya for me. Apparently, it's a traditional Masai weapon that is widely carried. It's made from some very hard and heavy kind of wood: Definitely a good home-defense club: A weeeee bit phallic though. You decide:

It looks pretty cool, and could probably do some serious damage.
How's the weight and handling?

It's very end-heavy, as you probably could have guessed. It' has a nice heft to it - probably heavy enough to smush a head. I've been told that they are generally of olive wood.

I saw a very similar weapon being touted as some kind of African warclub...was it on eBay? Or was it on SFI or here? Whoever it was, was selling it for $90, I do remember that. Interesting look, I'm sure it can deliver some devastating blows.

Something very similar to that was used in a challenge on Survivor Africa. They were throwing them clay masks to smash them. Allegedly because they are meant for throwing, but I can't say as I trust a TV show to get things right.

Hilariously so considering the part of it you're cupping. I think I've seen that video.

zeclaymore: well spoken my friend, that is the second laugh you have given me today. Cup the balls and stroke the shaft? Ok maybe that was a bit too much.

Haha, the look on your face in that third picture is priceless. Does seem like an interesting weapon, though, thanks for posting it. With the dimestions it has, I wouldn't be surprised if it's made for throwing, though it certainly seems like a handy club.
