I wish the show incorporated lightbringer like the books, it comes up all the time in the books but the show only calls attention to it in one scene. So do I, but I think the reason it was downplayed in the show is because it probably is a red herring and they didn’t have time( or the writing skill) to do anything with it. Still, I like the show design a lot, but it would be awesome if it glowed.

It was def a red herring in the books. They made a point of commenting that its glow did not project shadows or emit warmth like a light should, in other words, the symbol of Stannis's power was an illusion lol.

Are you an English teacher? I just though it was a magic sword but that makes it a lot more important.

My best friend is an author so I discuss stuff like this with him all the time.

Would be dope if a budget company like Windlass or Hanwei made an estoc. I would be so happy

What are some swords you'd like the big manufacturers to start carrying? Please specify who you'd like to make each one. For example, I'd like to see a type XIX by Ronin Katana. Not only is Ronin very cost effective, but they have shown a recent willingness to explore different blade cross sections as seen in their new longsword. It doesn't have the finger ring on the guard, and its more expensive than a Ronin version would probably be, but here's a Type XIX for you: www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AT025&name=Angus+Trim+%2D+XIX%2E2+Arming+SwordIf you still don't want to go the Deepeeka route.

Its the season of birthdays in my family. I have six birthdays to celebrate and shop for presents in the next three months. Seven, if you count a good friend of mine. So much shopping. I'll be pinching the pennies for a while. So, I can't gift you the $800, I'm afraid. Unless you end up being a long-lost family member; then, I'd owe you a present.

I can't find a quality picture of this Windlass sword online anymore. I know I have old catalogs with it in them. I'd have to scan those to get a clean look of this sword. For now, this picture of a rusty one in Hank Reinhardt's collection will have to do. www.hankreinhardt.com/Sale/Swords/Swords%20206.htmSuch a simple, beautiful sword. Nice Type XVIII, I think. I contacted the site linked several years ago to inquire about buying their rusty version. Said their site hadn't been updated, and it had actually sold a few years prior. Opportunity missed. Ah well. Still haven't updated their site, though! This is one sword I wish Windlass would resurrect. From the same Reinhardt collection, here are some others: Cinqueda www.hankreinhardt.com/Sale/Swords/Swords%20073.htmFalchion of St. Michael www.hankreinhardt.com/Sale/Swords/Swords%20211.htmSword of Frederich III (for the most part; the original had a brass wire wrapped hilt) www.hankreinhardt.com/Sale/Swords/Swords%20017.htmDon't have a pic, but their Knightly Hand-and-a-Half Sword would be nice. I think Windlass basically re-used the pommel and guard on one of their current Stage Combat Swords. But, from the pics I remember, the older sword had a more wasted/ergonomic hilt. And, of course, it was for actual cutting. Anyway, Windlass would be so awesome if they brought these swords back. Esp. that Sword with Rain Guard.

I've become a fan of colichemarde swords lately, and I'd really like it if more companies than Cold Steel made an affordable model. If anyone knows of any, please pass on a recommendation to me

I got a new one to suggest on here: A Karabela. This sword just seems MIA. It's not that there's limited selection, there seems to be NO selection, at least this side of the pond and under $1500. It's a shame too, these swords look great.

You should look into the etymology of the word "(censored)." It's latin for scabbard or sheath.
We're censoring anatomically correct terms here? It's so nice to be part of a community with puritanical sensibilities in the 21st century. Yay!
